No. It's not extended, but if you had paperwork to reflect when you received it, then we would start your warranty from that date, rather than the date we sold it to the other company. So if they bought it in Jan. of 04, the warranty would expire in Jan. of 05. But if they provided paperwork showing they issued it to you in Feb. of 05, then we would honor it until Feb. of 06. Sometimes, it's difficult to get the agency to provide that information, depending on how well their records are kept. And, remember, as Larry pointed out previously, the warranty covers the unit itself, not firmware. Most of the time, when things go wrong, there are things we can do to keep you from having to send the unit in. Often, problems are corrected in an update. >>> granthardy@xxxxxxxxx 04/25/05 08:28PM >>> So you're saying the warranty could be extended? Since you received this unit from another organization, the waranty would start from the date they purchased it. If they gave it to you a month ago, then you may want to contact them and get written paperwork from them, stating when they provided you with your unit, so the warranty can be changed to reflect you as the user, and the date will be changed. This is a good idea, because they may have had it for quite some time, before they gave it to you. Then, if you do have to send it in, you'll have the necessary documentation. I received my book port last month through an organization as a pilot project. So I'm not sure when the unit was actually purchased. And I want to find out whether the new hardware update will be covered by a warranty. Before you send your unit back, is there something we can assist you with? Since you are a Beta tester, we need to be sure any problems you're having isn't related to the firmware, rather than your unit. In addition to that, oftentimes, there are things we can do to try to solve problems. We don't want you to have to be without your unit, unless it is necessary.
