Then if you wanted to take notes, a special keystroke could be enabled, and a beep or something would be heard. This way, it would actually increase the functionality, as you could take notes/record and yet the unit could be locked when not in use.

Eric,
I use a Bookport to take notes during some meetings. And, wearing headphones at a meeting is well, not acceptable, depending on where you work. So, since we already have a quick-and-easy key lock combination, this probably would actually reduce the functionality
