Donald, you can get the cable elsewhere, on Amazon, or a local place. the one
you want is a mini AB USB cable.
They're used for all sorts of other devices, too, so fairly easy to find.
I'm
still using my original Book Port, daily; I prefer its speech to anything else
available in a little book reader gadget.
I've have had to get spare USB cables several times, over the years. I've
replaced Cards for my machine, as well. If that's useful, it takes a Compact
type I flash card.
