Hi Rob, I, on several occasions, have used the D+E+f and have lost my settings. I have just done 3 tests. The first time, I hit D+E+f, removed the batteries and put them back in immediately. The settings were retained. The second time, I did the same thing exceptwhen reinserting the second battery , I (without intending to do so) popped it in and out. So, the power was connected, killed and reconnected very quickly. If I wasn't paying attention, I might not have noticed. And, of course, my settings were lost. The third test was to hit d+e+f, remove the batteries, wait for more than 30 seconds and reinsert them. My settings were retained. If you're concerned about letting it out, send to me privately. I'm trying to figure out if it is a particular run of units. >>> walt@xxxxxxxxxx 04/18/06 11:20AM >>> Okay, Rob, thanks. I thought there was some kind of spoken message, but I could be wrong about that. In any case, it's not working right--just this past Sunday, I pressed D+E+F, received the double beep, removed the old batteries, and when I inserted the new ones, I got the "Defaults restored" announcement and had to reset all of the things that I customize. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ROB MEREDITH" <rmeredith@xxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 9:46 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: Two Questions D+E+F should and does only emit a double beep. This part is fine.
