Type II cards tend to be such devices as micro drives, which have moving
parts and are fairly expensive.

Caroline -

Can't help with your first question, except to say that the card that
comes
with your new BP will be _at least_ 128 meg, since they've never shipped

smaller cards after having shipped a given size--it's a matter of price.
As
to the second, Type I cards are the "standard" CF card; that is, that's
what
you'll get 99.9% of the time when you ask about CF cards. If you've been

using cards in other devices, the chances are excellent that they'll
also
work in the BP. Type II cards are slightly thicker and would not fit
into
the slot on the BP.

Subject: [bookport] Two Compact Flash Card Questions

Hi everyone. I just ordered my Book Port on Monday, and am also eagerly

awaiting my backordered unit. In the meantime though, I've been up on
the
APH web site reading through the manual so that I can get started that
much
faster once my unit comes. I have two questions though concerning the
CF
cards.

Last week when I was looking at the product specifications on the APH
web
site, it said that the unit comes with a 128-meg card. Now the site
just
states that it comes with a CF card. Has the size of the card changed,
or
will I still be receiving a 128-meg card?

Second, and probably most importantly, how can I tell the difference
between
type I and type II cards? I have several cards that I use both for my
Pac
Mate and for my PlexTalk, but don't have any idea which type they are
since
both these devices take either kind. The biggest card I have is
512-Megs,
and I'd really like to be able to use it. Any suggestions would be most

appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Caroline
