Hello Pamela,
That is how I remember it as well. It simply doesn't work however.
I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Audible, letting them run my system by
remote, and they were also unable to get the player activated.
We are suspicious that the easiest way to get things fixed, would be to replace
the firmware on the player. If I understand this process, this would replace
the software on the player and would not necessitate having a flash card
inserted? If there were a previous activated Audible account on the player, it
would be eliminated by the new installation? I do not have an installation
disk available at this time, and wonder if the installation software is
available on the internet for download.
Again, thank you very much for your assistance.
Rick

I haven't used that device in years, however, if it follows the current
audible process, you would need to go to Audible Manager and install the plug
in, choosing APH Book Port as your device.

I am getting this message when inserting my flash card into a original
Bookport I am using for the first time. For the life of me, I can't determine
what I'm doing wrong. I thought I had only to open the Audible Manager program
and activate the new Bookport. When I attempt to do this, it doesn't even
recognize the Bookport being plugged into the computer. I can see the Audible
files on my flash card using Windows Explorer, but Audible Manager does not see
the player.
I imagine I am doing something wrong, and will really appreciate any
assistance in solving this problem.
