Phil,
I paid 239 bucks. The Olympus is great but it doesn't orally name the files
and you can't tell battery status. I do love its sound and portability.

I bought an Olympus one gig recorder/player. It plays windows media files,
audible files, and comes with stereo mikes. Besides that, all functions are
spoken in a clear voice. Cost, 260$, a bargain I think. I rest my case.
