Hi. I've used the BookPort with both in the ear and behind the ear aids. The simplest method is undoubtedly to use headphones over the aids themselves. If you can find a pair of relatively large headphones, this isn't bad and is quite cheap, though it may be painful sometimes <laugh>. The way I do it though is to use Silhouettes which are small j-shaped pieces of plastic that go behind the ear. They're wired to a cable that has, at its other end, a headphone plug which plugs into the bookport or any other device. These cost around $90 USD. Switch your aid to the telecoil setting, put the silhouettes on, and the BP will transmit directly to the aid in stereo. This gives you tons of volume control through the aid as well as through the BP, and makes the BP's output private. You can also plug the BP into your FM system if your aid has a built in FM receiver. Again, you get volume and privacy with this, but you generally only get mono sound, which makes stereo files come out not sounding very good. If you don't mind that, and don't have an FM receiver in your aid, APH used to sell a neck loop which can also be plugged into the BP. This goes around your neck and has a cord that plugs into the headphone jack. Turn your aids to telecoil and, again, you have great, though mono, sound. If APH doesn't sell these any more, there are other vendors who do. I've seen them as low as $15 and as high as $70. HTH. I will be getting hearing aids soon. Any special techniques I should be aware of? I'll be trying the behind the ear type. Cheers, Dave
