Hi,

Sections in text files are usually marked as subsections, so you'd use 6+9 and 4+7 to move back-and-forth between them. And no, unfortunately you can't distinguish in normal text files between section and subsections.

Subject: [bookport] Separator String for Sections

Hi,

I have a text file which I would like to transfer to the BP and in which I
would like to navigate through sections and/or mark sections easily.

I tried putting the default (first in the list of Options) sections marker
":::::" to mark the sections of my text file. However, when I transfer
this to the BP and use the 9 key for one beep while reading the file, the BP
doesn't seem to move to the next marked section of the text file.

Any advice?

Also, is it possible to put level-1 and level-2 section markers in a text
file (as with DAISY files) so that one can use the 1-3 and 3-9 keys to move
to sections and sub-sections as with a DAISY file (or is this type of
marking done in another helper file for DAISY format)?

Thanks for any advice.

-- Pete
