I think it does stretch. I certainly wouldn't try to carry spare
batteries right now.

I can fit two or three cards and a spare set of batteries. Maybe you have to stretch the pocket out a bit, and maybe I did this unintentionally. It certainly seems to hold more now than it did when I first got it.
