If you are using XP, the procedure is exactly as you wish--just unplug and = go. You can do this with 2000, too, but you have to put up with the = warnings you get. It is safe to ignore them, but it is criticle that you = give Windows time to flush its cache on 2000. We recommend waiting at = least 30 seconds when transfering long files. Again, none of this is = necessary on XP. >>> jzr@xxxxxxxxxx Thursday, June 17, 2004 12:54:19 AM >>> Hello all. One of the greatest annoyances for me when transferring files = to the device via the transfer tool is that, after closing the tool, in order to properly remove the device from the PC, one must go disconnect the = device via the Safely Remove Hardware button on the system tray before disconnecting the cable from the Book Port. It seems to me that it'd be rather easy to set the software up such that it would optionally perform this function upon closing, thus allowing the user to click the close button, disconnect the cable from their Book Port, and be off to the = races. Is there a reason why that isn't done already, or is it possible that this feature be added as a minor addition to a soon-to-be-released update? = Since there may be those who transfer non-music files to the machine via the transfer tool, but who copy MP3's to the device via Windows Explorer or their favorite disk browsing facility, this change be accessed via an = option under the Advanced tab in the options menu. Thoughts, suggestions, ideas anyone? Jeremiah
