I did listen to that podcast, but I believe it said that a special format
was going to be used, or that you would have to have special software.
Perhaps I misunderstood, however.

Jim,
I know the target for the whole digital program is 2008. It seems painfully
slow to me too but, as you said, they have their reasons.
Perhaps the biggest one is that most of their clientele is not technically
savvy and needs something fool-proof. However, I wouldn't be surprised if
they were to make the downloads available before the memory cards and
players are here and the BP stands at the ready. Lou

Just putting in my 2 cents. I would love to download and read NLS books on
my Book Port. Since moving to the Book Port, I no longer like messing with
tapes. We can only hope the NLS makes some progress. It seems to be taking a
long time. I'm sure that there are budget constraints.
