I tried to use windows media player, but looked at sound taxi. I got the
impression that I needed some sort of MP3 recorder to make it work. Is that
correct?

What are you using? Windows Media Player won't do it. Others on this list
have reccomended sound taxi. I think there are a couple other programs,
too. the thing is, you need something spaciffically for this.
