When you allowed it to update did you also have your headphones or a speaker attached so that you knew when it was completed? After unplugging from the usb cable you cannot touch any keys until it has finished updating you will not know this unless you can hear it state that it is completed. Note: it is not complete when your screen reader says ok. it is just alerting you that it has finished downloading from the site, updating starts once you deplug from the usb. ----- Original Message ----- From: Roger Purdy To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2006 3:58 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Problem activating with Audible Thank you for your help. That should do it. One more thing. Each time I plug the BP into the USB, it keeps wanting to download firmware 2.2. It downloads and even says it installs but Winzip doesn't completely finish. It keeps doing this when I plug it in. Any ideas? If not, I'll ask the list. Thanks again for your help. Next you don't use the audible manager to activate the the bookport, you go into bookport transfer to do it. Go to options and press space then under advanced look for the activate button and give it your name and password and you will be good to go. Then you use the bp transfer program to transfer your books to it. Audible won't recognize it even being there when I choose the activate button but I have the Transfer Software installed and the BP connected. I tried just copying an Audible file which was a format 3 file but that didn't work either. Any ideas. Thanks for the help.
