Hi Amy,
There are six buttons on the headset plus the power switch. For use with the Bookport it is usually only necessary to use the power switch and the up and down volume control buttons. The dial that you mentioned is the power switch for tthe adapter. This switch is a circular ring around the button in the center and is referred to as the power dial. It is quite difficult to turn on and off. The button has no function when using the Bookport. To turn it on I use my two thumbnails in the grooves that are opposite each other. ON is counterclockwise and you should feel a definite movement and a soft click. It turns a little easier after being used a while.

Hello all,
Got my headphones today. The sparse manual mentions a dial, but I see only
buttons on the headset. Is there a newer version of the manual than the one 
I found on the headset?
Private replies welcome, as this is somewhat OT, (although the device I want 
this for is the bookport.)
