From what others on list have reported, the BP's battery contacts are fraught with problems. Personally, I haven't had any. "fraught..." I always wanted to use that word...

With the availability of high amperage rechargable batteries and
chargers, I'd vote to avoid the batery pack idea, unless the USB
voltage can be used to charge the batteries.
