Yes, in XP it's called System Backup and Restore. I just restored an old 
configuration day before yesterday with only one major glitch. The main 
problem I did encounter was that the restore overwrote some new McAfee 
antivirus files and ultimately, I had to uninstall and reinstall McAfee.

Do any of you use a speech friendly backup and restore utility
which can capture not only your data but everything relating to
your current installation - in other words, can you capture your
system as it has been newly installed, and six months later go
back to the way it was without having to reinstall Windows?
