That doesn't mean that it was placed there by the format process. While, as Rob said, it's "advisable" to format a new card, it is absolutely not required for any Book Port function. I have several CF cards that I have never formatted in the BP and each of them functions perfectly well with all types of material. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Buhrow" <buhrow@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 8:51 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Observations Bruce. May I suggest that you look at your Bookport card again. I believe you'll find a hidden system file in the root directory called BCSIG._BB which is a binary file which appears to contain certain Bookport identification information. The one on my bookport is 2104 bytes large. -Brian On Jan 31, 7:14pm, Bruce Toews wrote: } Subject: [bookport] Re: Observations } No. The only thing the BP places on your card is the manual, and that's } not done at format but rather by the transfer program when you connect it. } The identification for Audible boks and so on is stored in BookPort } itself, not on the card.
