Well, once you press Escape, it closes that note, but you are still in the Notes folder. It's the same as if you'd recorded a memo. Once you stop recording, you have to get out of the memoes folder. So, in this instance, you have to get out of the Notes folder. Once you've pressed the Escape Key, then press 0 plus * to exit that folder. Then, press either # or * to go find the book you were reading last.Pamela Rader, TECHNICAL SUPPORT American Printing House For The Blind 1839 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206 PHONE: 1-800-223-1839, Ext. 307tataindi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 11/12/07 11:05AM >>>I pressed escape and it gave a title to the file, but I continued in notemode. Then, press Pound, C and F (which are now on the bottom row) at the same time. Before using it for the first time, you'll want to familiarize yourselfwith the Braille Keyboard Layout, which can be found in Appendix C of themanual. From the manual: New Note: #+C+F To start a new note, use the New Note command. When you press the New Notecommand, the device opens a new file in the \Notes folder. If there is no\notes folder, Book Port creates it. Once Book Port creates the new file, itswitches to the braille keyboard layout. All commands you use after usingthis command come from the braille keyboard layout until you press Escape to exit the note. Edit Note: 3+6+9 To edit an existing note, use the file movement commands to point to the note, then press the Edit Note command. Once the unit opens the existing note, it switches to the braille keyboard layout. All commands you use after this command come from the braile keyboard layout until you press Escape to exit the note. The software remembers the last position in the note file when you edit. Inserting TextTo insert additional text into a note, use the navigation keys to move tothe place in the note where you wish to add the new information, and begin typing. Exit Note: Escape When you finish with a note, press Escape to exit the note taker. The software leaves you pointing to the current file in the notes folder. Once you exitthe note taker, the unit switches back to the normal keyboard layout, and you may use the normal file navigation commands to move from file to fileor to back out of the Notes folder. See Appendix C for more on the Braille Keyboard layout.
