When I unchecked the option to allow Autopreview, I still got it when I
arrowed through the Audible file names. I couldn't find any way to stop it
from beginning.

Press Escape to stop an audio preview. (If you find you would rather have =
previews on demand, go to Options, select the Advanced page, and uncheck =
Allow Auto Preview.)
