Hi Phil and list,

Phil, I think you may have hit on the problem. I doubt that the plextalk formatted card is happy in the book port. Try copying the files onto a card that has been formatted by the book port and see if the file will play.

First, thanks for your interest.
What I am trying to do is just this. I record on my p t r
from my cereous
satellite some programs each weekend. I would like to be able to
take the
card out of the p t r and play it in my book port. It is my
understanding
that is possible but so far I can't get it to work.
Wonder, should I format the card in the bookport before I put
it in my
plex talk to record.

Clueless, Phil Parr.

Hi Phil,

When you make a recording on the Plextalk, several files get
created.
Which of those files are you trying to send to the Book Port?

Bradley, my version says 2.01, then what the hell is wrong.
My bookport
still says, unfiltered files not supported.
When it said that a while ago I am sure most of you in the
southern
part of the United states must have heard me yelling.

Frustrated, Phil Parr.

Phil,
The version I am running is 2.0, that major firmware upgrade
Plextor
released last summer. There were enough revisions in it to fill
a
bathtub, including some improvements in compatibility with mp3's
from
other units. HTH

I don't want to create confusion, but I am able to play Plextor
files
in the Bookport by taking the card straight out of the recorder
and
inserting it into the BP. I am running the latest beta in BP,
and as
far as I know, the last update in Plextor firmware. I have used
64bit
and 128bit files successfully, both of them mp3's. HTH

I have even been told in certain countries it is illegal to
have
unfiltered files.

Thanks in advance some one, Phil Parr.

Don't know why it would do that if they're .mp3's. Are you
sending
them
via BP transfer? Although they should work either way. Lou

When I try to play the m p 3 files I have recorded on my
p t
r
book
port says this.
       unfiltered files not supported
It is of course not my intention to have unfiltered
files so, >> how
do
I filter them and get my little bookport to play them?
