Sd stands for secure digital. THey're smaller then a compactflash card, about the size of a postage stamp. Other then that, it's the same concept, it's flash memory. Sd cards do have a write protect switch so you can prevent data on the card from being erased, much like you can with a floppy disk. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Otto Zamora" <8zamora@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 03, 2006 7:32 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Memory Cards > Hi David, > > Must confess I don't know what an SD card is, how does it differ from the > current card which is used in the unit? > > Otto > > -----Original Message----- > From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] > On Behalf Of David Tanner > Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2006 2:04 AM > To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [bookport] Memory Cards > > I would like to suggest that any new BookPort have two memory slots: one cf > card slot, and a second port for sd cards.
