Hi, Dave.
When you sent the file to the unit, did you hear short beeps
followed by a success sound? If not, you're still, for some reason, sending
the file through the standard windows interface, rather than the BP transfer
tool. When you right clicked on the file and selected send to, did you then
select "bookport" or anything with a drive letter after it? K:, for example?
You can send, at least on my system, to the unit as a drive or just to
"bookport". The latter is the way that uses the transfer tool.
The keys I mentioned are the forward and reverse keys on the unit,
and they work on digital media as they do on text or, at least, they do on
my unit here.
        Aman

I did what you suggested. I deleted the file from my player and =
transferred
it by selecting the file and pressing the context key, scrolling down to
send to, then book port. It isn't where I want it but still it doesn't =
go
forward via those keys mentioned. =20

Regardless I still think there should be a fast forward and reverse key =
for
digital media, such as MP3 and WAV.

Hi.
You might want, in the my computer or explorer views of Windows
Explorer, to right-click on the file in its folder on your hard drive.
Select send to, then book port. This should transfer it correctly.
Copying and pasting doesn't, in my experience, work.

I tried your suggestion however it didn't work. It just played on as =
=3D
though nothing was pressed. =3D20

The method which I transferred the file was by copying it from a folder =
=3D
then opening My Computer scrolling down to the removable drive K: =
opening
it =3D and pasting it in my book folder. Is this the wrong method to do =
this?

Hi.
Try 1, 4, 7, and 7 held down for one beep to go back 2 seconds in an
MP3, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 60 seconds. 3, 6, 9, and 9 held down =3D
should go forward by the same time periods. The only time I've seen =
these =3D
commands fail to work is when you transfer the mp3 file using a card =
reader.

Subject: [bookport] MP3 question

Hello,
I downloaded the documentation in MP3 format from A P H which is 38MB =
=3D and
transferred it to the bookport. after starting to read it I tried to =
=3D use
1 key to go back a sentence and 3 to go forward a sentence and other =
keys =3D
to do other things. nothing worked. I can see a problem with reading =
=3D
audible file on the player already. my suggestion is to incorporate a =
fast
=3D forward and reverse into the player. I sometimes have a tendency to =
miss
=3D something and wish to go back a minute or 2 but at this point I =
don't
think I =3D would be able to. besides, some like to fast forward =
through a
music file to a =3D part or possibly go back to relisten to a part. I =
had a
RIO 500 and a RIO =3D 900 and I could do it with both of them. it would =
start
sort of slow then =3D speed up. the nice thing was I could hear it =
going back
or forward at a high =3D rate of speed. I could then stop and it would =
just
start playing at that =3D point. =3D20 =3D20 Dave =3D20 =3D20 =3D20 =
