No, Lou, I _am_ getting the beet _regardless_ of the setting of Lock Beep when the device is locked with keys 1&3. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Lou Kolb Sent: Tuesday, June 28, 2005 4:15 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: Lock Beep doesn't seem to be working If I understand this right, Walt must have lost the function of his external speaker. At least, that's all I can figure if he isn't getting the lock-beep. As for the nature of the Key lock, that has been discussed before on the list and APH has never stated whether it's possible to give us a complete lock or not. To me, that would be a situation where, when locked, no key or key combination would perform any action at all and the unit would not wake up unless the 1 and 3 keys were pressed to unlock it. I've lobbied for this arrangement a time or two but I'm sure there are more important needs to be addressed first. Perhaps this is one of those things that can be put on a wish list for some future iteration of the hardware. I'm just grateful the lock beep can be turned off even if the unit still powers up when a key is pressed.
