I wonder if the keys could be cleaned with a product in a spray can my husband called, Mat Man? I'll let him take a look at my BP and find out. He is an electronics tech, so, as they would say on Myth Busters, "Don't try this at home."

Gary and list:
One of the main hardware designers of the Bookport used to refer to it as "pizza finger" syndrome. Not that we're saying that is your problem, but apparently oil from the fingers can eventually build up and thus interfere with the responsiveness of the buttons.
Mine is four years and nearly two months old, and so far so good.

I was hoping someone would say I could connect it up to a vacuum cleaner and suck out all the dust, but then I think I'll just have to get a second one to have one which I can send for repair.

Thanks Walt.

Gary -

The entire keypad on my original BP has developed the identical symptoms, rendering it more or less unusable. I recently bought a second unit (in excellent condition) as a backup and am now preparing to return the first one for replacement of the entire keypad.

I find that one of my buttons, the five, is less responsive and either requires a harder push or movement of the key other than vertically when being pressed. Is there any kind of external thing I can do to make this work or is a repair in order?
