As a very recent purchaser of BookPort, March 3, 2007, I am enjoying it
immensely; however, if I had known that a newer version would be released so
soon, I would have waited to buy it. I feel cheated. I am surprised at
this, because I have always believed Aph to be an ethical nonprofit
corporation. If the release date were six months from now, I would
understand, but, if it really is going to be released during the second
quarter of this year, then I am disappointed, indeed!

I think there's at least a more than decent chance that there could be major
alterations in the design and features since that podcast was recorded last
October, so there may be things worth hearing on the Main Menu broadcast. I
don't believe that the podcast was any great secret...after all, the meeting
was a public one. I think this is more of a classic case of the left hand
not being aware of what the right one was doing or, in this instance, had
done. I'll bet that Pamela, who's the only APH employee still following and
contributing very regularly to this list, may not even have been aware of
the fact that it existed.

I just listened to most of the Podcast, particularly to Rob's
description of the new Bookport. Now, I'm wondering what the big
deal is about the upcoming Main Menu program. Were we not supposed
to have found out about this Podcast? Why has everything been kept
so quiet when this podcast was out there for all of us to listen
to. Rusty, when did you say this was released?
The new BP sounds like it would be good to have. The Icon Braille
Plus sounds even better , but I just spent a ton of money on a
new laptop, so that will have to wait.
