Scott,
Would you mind writing down and posting the exact steps you take after =
you have downloaded a Bookshare book, what you do with it and how you =
transfer it to the BookPort? I might be able to help you, but I'm not =
entirely sure what all you are doing.

TIA
Sarah

Subject: [bookport] Large Digital Talking Books

Hi Everyone,
I have been working on sending some digital talking books from Book =
Share to the BP. When I send something small, like a periodical, the =
file gets sent almost instantly. When I try to send something large, =
like a Bible or large text book, the transfer software says "getting =
file information" and just sits there. After two or three minutes, I =
give up and cancel the process. Because the digital talking books from =
Book Share only contain text, I wouldn't think that it would take that =
long to filter the file, even if the file is large. Is something wrong =
or am I just not being patient enough? By the way, when the transfer =
software says "getting file information", the sounds that are made don't =
sound like the normal progression of tones that are usually made during =
a file transfer. There is just a single tone over and over. It sounds =
kind of like a slow heart monitor. Any help that anyone could give =
would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
