I've seen absolutely no difference in beta 26 from the behavior I've seen since purchasing my BP eighteen months ago. As I've said, I'm convinced that this has something to do with the internal file format, since different files in the same format (for example, different .txt files) behave differently from one another. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ROB MEREDITH" <rmeredith@xxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2006 8:52 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: Lagging pointer with the 26 update. John: I don't know that the beta makes a difference here. I have seen no evidence of the beta being a factor, but you guys are the testers, and perhaps there is something there. Did you by chance happen to use the Most Punctuation setting before upgrading to the beta? We believe this makes a difference. In fact, if anyone who is having pointer lagging problems would be willing to read for a day or so in Most Punctuation mode and report their findings, that would be great. I tried it briefly, and I couldn't get the pointer to fall behind. Rob Meredith >>> fritzfamily@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 02/21/06 02:09PM >>> Since I have updated to the latest furmware beta update the file pointer lagged. For example, while I am reading a textfile and more often a daisy file I stop reading and when I restart the reading will resume 1 to 3 pages back. I have read others with other pointer lagging issues in earlier updates but I just started having this problem. I think this is very strange. John
