Only trouble I have with an internal speaker is this: it adds
complexity to the jack. I not so fondly remember the jack with switch
behind it on my second handi-cassette; I'm sure aph could have gotten
me another one for the price, but my repair guy couldn't get ahold of
one because it was so odd. If aph adds a speaker, I'd much rather
have a button to press to activate it or at least a standard jack
without an oddball switch just begging to break.
