Sandy, I think we are talking about two different kinds of speed here.
Regular CF cards, not the ultra ones, have different speeds for
reading and writing information to and from the card.  I believe Rob
was saying that one should find the fastest regular CF card available
rather than buying an ultra card which operates at a much much higher
speed than the standard CF cards.  You are right about the ultra card.
The bookPort processor is not likely going to be able to give you any
appreciable speed difference.  Is this as clear as mud?

If I remember correctly, Larry said it makes no difference whether
high 
speed cards are used or not.  The high performance cards wouldn't
improve 
the performance of the BP, anyway.  Now Rob says it is better to buy
