One thing you might even consider for news articles, is sending them to mp3 files with a program like "news aloud," creating them at a decent bit rate/sample rate using a good voice like AT&T or NEOSPEECH, thereby being able to pick and choose articles. It's really quite cool and NewsAloud can automatically make the mp3s for you on a schedule, of course automatically downloading and recording the news types you choose.
