Hi Hope and list:

Welcome aboard! Yes, you can easily transfer books from CD to the CF card. The book port manual is the best and most complete source of information on this. You'll find a copy on your bookport when it arrives. You can go ahead and read it now on the APH web site.

Cheers,
Dave

Subject: [bookport] Getting my Bookport

Hi all
I am getting my Bookport. I can't wait. I am getting it for the purpose of reading my books from Recordings for the blind. Can I load those on to the CF card using my computer?

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated.

Hope

.
.I wonder if its something about the lengths of audio files.
.
.I have a short DAISY book, originally based on about 40 wave files. The files each last from 3 to 8 seconds in length.
.
.When I play it from start to finish, its fine, but when I move by phrase (each file appears as a phrase when I press 1 or 3) I
.either get some files not playing to completion, or sometimes I hear the first half second of the subsequent item.
.
.Not sure if these problems are related, and if it's a problem with the precision of the Bookport Audio hardware when starting
.and stopping playback of recorded audio.

.
.I have noticed this also, they are 32kbit mp3 files and it doesn't always
.happen.
