This is something we can consider for an update. >>> mvotta1@xxxxxxxxxx Sunday, April 17, 2005 9:49:04 PM >>> Hi List, Some of you are probably not going to agree with me, especially Larry and the others at APH; however, I have worked with the Braille keyboard feature for awhile and I think that the key functions of the second and third rows should be reversed. I am saying this because, on a Perkins Brailler, as well as the various note-takers, the Space key is directly below the letter keys. Also, On 8 dot note-takers, dot 7 is near dot 3 and dot 8 is near dot 6. The first time I attempted to to the F chord, it didn't work, try as I might. Then I realized why. I was pressing the key in the second row, which I thought should be the space key. Each time I want to press the Space key, I have think about its location. Another reason I think that the second and third row key functions should be reversed is that it will be much easier for people to remember the location of the enter key if it were the right most key on the bottom row. That is where the enter key of the PC num-pad is. From an instructor's standpoint, if the functions of the two rows were reversed, it would be much easier to teach students the location of each key.
