As a follow-up. I have gotten a number of audible.com books whose
quality, at level 4 or the highest recording quality have not been all
that great. Some of them are recorded off of cassette tape. So, if
there is a lot of decode/reencoding that needs to happen, that would
seem to make the quality only worse. I'm not sure how often I would
use this feature, especially as only a few of the books have been
distorted and none of them have been so distorted that I had
difficulty listening to them.

That's fine, but we would have to decode/reencode the file, slightly
degrading quality. I see this more as a spoken word thing, but we can
do it if people want it.

It's mostly my music that's distorted, therefore I'd want this check
box for music too, smile.

I agree with Don here. I have many ways to play audio and I don't
need the book port to be a perfect audiophile device. However, I know
that others may want to use it for their best quality audio. So,
having a choice of normalizing or not seems like a good idea. Neal

Make it an option for those4 who want it; that will give the best of
=3D3D both worlds.

Hi,

Just an idea, but what do you think of the idea of including your =3D3D
normalise=3D3D20 routines from the studio recorder applications? Just an
idea to =3D3D consider.
