hi walt,
This is not true In my case, I can load .brf files from bookshare.org using the
send menu. which is easier for me then using the book port transfer software.

Why on earth would you want to do this? Since MP3 is the only format you can
copy to the Book Port without using the transfer program, I guess all you ever
want on the BP are MP3 files, but that's like using a sledgehammer to swat a
mosquito, since there are excellent 1Gb MP3 players like the Zen Stone
available for a tenth the cost of the BP.

  Hi Everyone,
I disabled bookport transfer using a program that runs in the control pannel
called start up manager. The computer still recognizes the bookport when I plug
it in to my machine. I was able to send books using the send menu In the file
menu. I am using usb 2.0. I hope this helps everyone thank you all for your
suggestions.
  Sincerely,
  Steve Cullen
