Yes - I had the problem of not being able to use the book port after pressing DEF when changing the battery.

I had to remove and replace the flash card. The solved the problem.

Subject: [bookport] Re: Dead Bookport

Last evening while reading with my Bookport, I got a low battery warning. I entered the d,e,f combination on the key pad, and changed the old batteries for fresh ones. I have not been able to get any response whatsoever from the Bookport. I've tried with headphones I know to be working, and all I can ever get is a very faint "pop".

Anybody have ideas for how I might try to reinitialize the Bookport? I don't have easy access to a PC this weekend, though I could, with some effort, access one.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
