As a matter of fact, the Book Port only works with FAT, not FAT32 or the
newer one, which I must admit, I have forgotten the name of also, at least
for tonight. Yawn...It's been a long day.

You mentioned having difficulty reading a card in the PAC Mate.
Perhaps the clue here is that you formatted with an XP format. I believe
the PAC Mate can deal with FAT or FAT32, but not the newer format XP
uses--whose initials have suddenly slipped my mind.
