The Icon costs $1300.00... a mighty large chunk of change for what it does!

www.levelstar.com for icon
www.aph.org for bookport
www.blindcooltech.com has info about the icon, also ACBRadio did a feature
on the icon a couple of weeks back.

Hello Pam,

If this is not the place to do it, then send me an E mail and tell me the
differences between the icon, and the current book port.
If not, could you give me a web site where I might go take a look??
Thanks very much.

The Icon is a PDA, which is being developed by Level Star. In addition, APH
will be releasing a product in the spring, called the Icon Braille Plus,
with the difference being that it will be able to accommodate a Braille
Display. Before anyone goes there, and to keep traffic to a minimum on the
list, I don't know what displays it will handle, as I just got the thing in
my hand this week and am still just learning how to use it. And besides,
the braille display is still being worked on, so I don't think we are ready
to say what it will or won't handle. The only reason why I brought it up in
the first place is just to let our customers know that they can buy it from
the other company, or if they'd rather do business with APH, they can wait
and buy it from us!

Hi List,

I'm missing something somewhere. What are these Icons you refer to Pam?

Never heard of it. What is Icon Braille Plus and can it work with the
PacMate BX440 braille display?
