I had my Bookport for about a year and was totally turned off by Doubletalk
because I had difficulty understanding it because of unfamiliarity and
hearing loss. My hearing aids were several years old technology and I had
problems with other speech as well. I got new hearing aids about 4 or 5
months ago and it has made a huge difference. The newer ones are programmed
like a graphic equalizer to correct hearing to an almost normal condition.
I use them with the open type headphone and am also able to use them with
the closed type if the hearing aid volume is turned down. The aids have a
remote control so it is easy to ajust volume equally and precisely. There
is no problem with feedback.
As I don't know what other people do in these cirmstances, I though this
might be healpful and would like to hear your comments.
