Denise,

7323 is just a code to read the book after it is loaded into whatever software you use to read the RFB&D books. When you go to the web site, they should show that you can register the product. It should show that you have one registration left. I know that I had a problem when I did not first install the book wizzard software first.

I agree that this fear of copyright abuse is getting ridiculous. It makes it harder and harder for blind people to have access to material. People who are bound to cheat will find a way to cheat. I hope you get your problem solved. I do understand your frustration.
Tim

Hi tim,
You are partially right. I did see the fingerprint code when I put the cd
into the drive and it brought up the registration dialog box. The problem
I'm having is after my name, it asks for a key. I wasn't sent anything in
braille. I've checked the package over and over. 7323 does not work as I get an error message from windows. When I go to the web page, I only see the old
tdb reader software listed. I had purchased this software in the past.
This is really annoying. Copyright protection is one thing but unnecessary
hastle is another. We've all been schooled that use of copy protected
material is not permitted under law. The library of congress has told us
that up front for years.
Okay that's my rant for today!

Hi Denise,

I wish I could remember step-by-step instructions for setting up your RFBD,
but I will try to get you started. First be sure you install the Book
Wizzard software provided by APH. Then when you use the RFBD cd you will
need to copy the hardware fingerprint. If using JAWS you must turn on the
JAWS cursor to read that hardware fingerprint. You then have the choice of registering online. When you got the cd, RFBD should have made it possible to register. You go online to register and at some point give the hardware
fingerprint.

I hope someone else can take it from there.
Tim

Hello everyone,
I am new to this list. I recently got my authorization cd from rfb and d
to
install it on my computer to transfer books. However, I do not know what
to
put in for the authorization key. Nor do I know where to locate it. I
tried
several times this week to reach someone at rfb and d to find out this
information but no one got in touch with me. Does anyone know what I need
to
do? Thanks.
