that's it. A battery pack. That comes with most mp3 players because all they get is around 18 to 24 hours of playback. Bookport has 40-60.

Mayby, but my XM2go MyFI is portable, same battery pack, made for on the
road listening, and still has a power cord for both home and vehicle...

Wouldn't that be nice, go for a long drive with a friend, and use their
power port and not your batteries?

Have to agree there, just my opinion, plugging in the book port seems to
me
to defeat the purpose.
As for rechargeable batteries, I just bought a charger for double A
batteries that will charge them independently without any use of the book
port.

I only know portability was one of the main reasons I own one. The last
thing I want is another AC adapter to keep track of, not to mention
convert
from 110 to 240 Volts, etc.
