You all need to realize that the NLS will be issuing players designed specifically to play their books sometime in 2008. The majority of NLS subscribers are older Americans, and many of them are not computer users. The only individuals who will have to use a computer to obtain NLS material are those who wish to listen to such material on a 3rd party player such as the Bookport II or the VR-Stream. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sandy Licht Sent: Saturday, September 29, 2007 11:35 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: Book port, best player. I believe what was meant is Unabridged books. I really don't think the Olympus will at this time or will ever play NLS books. Otherwise, security would be a joke. From what I have been told by a state library employee, once you have downloaded the books onto your player, those books are yours to keep. What is strange is, you will have to download them in order to put them on BP2 or whatever player you have purchased using a computer. To use a computer... or not to use a computer? That is the question. (Grin!) Sorry. I couldn't resist. Perhaps this person misunderstood. We will just have to wait and see about all of this. Speculation, at this point, just gets some folks unduly upset. Life is too short to get upset about such nonsense! For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity.
