do you mind sending me the URL for that program? And, is it free? I do'nt have a credit card so I'll be in trouble if it's not. I could *really* use it. The only thing it wouldn't work on is those files with encrypted fonts...

However, there are programs that will remove the security on PDF files thatkeep them from being saved as plain text. I've used a program calledAdvanced PDF Password Recovery (APDFPR) for several years and haven't founda PDF file yet that it wouldn't unlock. I know there are others available, as well. The problem really isn't copyrighted material as much as a decision by theauthor or owner of the material to not permit it to be saved as text. There are valid reasons for doing this--a company that doesn't want its literaturemodified and then circulated might do this, for example.----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandy Licht" <slicht@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 12, 2007 1:09 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Book Port and PDF I have always had success with this built in utility in Adobe Acrobat. Some PDF documents have copyright protection, and this is where you might have trouble.
