No. It's really not necessary. You can just install the new one over the old. You'll be fine. I will get this newer version of the book wizard reader and try it. Quick question. Should I uninstall the older version of my book wizard software? If yes, do it before the installing the new that I download from the link you provided? Thanks again. I'm excited to try this. And that unzip thing does not bother me so much. I has been what happens when the book was on my Bookport that has been a problem. You can download it from: http://www.aph.org/tech/bwr_setup.exe Unfortunately, we can't do anything about the way bookshare books are handled with regard to unzipping. You will need to redownload any old books in order for them to work properly. What Peter described is exactly what I still experience with my Daisy files from Bookshare since they made changes back at the beginning of the year. Book titles, and even the newspapers from Newsline are no longer labeled and will just say "file." Also, I now have to use the windows extract to unzip and when they made this change, I have to put the newpapers and books in a folder all to themselves. Which is also quite a pain. At the time some months ago I went around trying to figure this out and asked some questions. Finally I just gave up. I am pretty sure I have the latest version of th Bookport Transfer software already. At least the update process runs and I have not had it say I needed an update for quite a while. But you said the newest version of Book Wizard Reader which I installed long ago but never use. So I thought, aha. This must be the problem. I checked what I have on my pc and it says it is running version 1.3.0 of the book wizard. I assume that is old. So do I understand then that I might be well served to update The Book Wizard Reader? FYI. When I go into my Help menu on this program and hit ENTER on check for updates, a box pops up and says there are no updates available. Still square one? Or did I miss my square altogether? I would love to resolve this if it is possible. Love the Bookport and still like to read bookshare daisy books and newsline papers. By the way the newsline papers from NFB Newsline cite do not operate in this way. So I have been getting them from the website or via email nowadays. Thanks. I believe the Bookport transfer utility uses the Book Wizard Reader in demo mode, so there's no need to purchase the book Wizard Reader if you don't already have it in order to fix the problem.
