I currently have only one extra file and 5 or 6 extra folders. But, I'll rearrange them on my card reader first chance I get.

The hard number, from an MS-DOS perspective is 512.  Each indexed item
on the Bookport takes up 3 directory slots, plus there's the two slots for
. and .. plus the volume label.  Then there's long file names, which suck
up lots of directory entries.  So, in practice, about 50 items is the max,
but lower is always better.
