not really:

1. You'd need to be at a place with a power outlet. If you were traveling a long distance in a vihicle, this wouldn't be useful (although the unit can handle 60 hours).
2. Wouldn't this make the unit more bulky? Also, that's one more AC adapter for me to keep track of; I have enough as it is. But I must say that it would be better then carrying a bulky battery charger around.

But if it could be rechared not only via the USB but via a power outlet you
could go anywhere.

One of the most attractive features of the BP to me is thhat you can load up
a CF card, buy a bunch of batteries, and go anywhere without having to have
a computer handy. I think it would be far better to address whatever issue
is actually causing these random crashes.

.That would require a lot of additional circuitry for the recharging. A nice
.compromise; one that's been suggested several times; would be to have the
.Book Port draw power via the USB cable when it's connected to the computer
.and it wouldn't surprise me if this one were to be incorporated into the
.next generation of the hardware, but I'm only speculating. I doubt, though,
.that the ability to charge the batteries from an AC source would ever be
.incorporated, since changing the batteries is so quick and simple and the
.cost and bulk of additional hardware circuitry might outweigh the value of
.such a feature.

.Its a pity the Book Port doesn't have those built in type of battery that
.can recharge when plugged in to the puter or power.
