The ticking sounds are on the recording side, not the playback side.
So, you will hear them no matter how you play the file.

Since the BP's .pcm recordings contain the ticking sounds - if I
were to convert these .pcm files to .mp3 format will I still
hear the ticking sounds on the mp3 conversions?
