Yup, if that's the worst thing that ever happens with my Book Port, I'll be a very happy BP owner! <smile> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Harmon" <rickharmon@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2006 6:26 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: BP locking up Hi, Yeah I think its just a quirk with mp3 type audio files. I wish it didn't do it but I won't loose any sleep over it. I understand its just one of the BPs quirks. I am very happy with my BP and have been reading a lot of books now that have been sitting on my pc collecting digital dust. When my lock-up occurred, I had attempted to get to the end of an mp3 file by holding the 3 key down until I heard a beep. Instead, I heard nothing more until I removed one of the batteries for 30 seconds or so and then replaced it! I had updated the firmware before this happened, and am running version 2.1. I have since tried several times to repeat this lock-up, but have so far not been able to do so. I am wondering if you have to wait while the BP turns off after pressing the stop button before you can safely press any buttons? I've also notice the BP's speech synth getting garbled if you don't wait for it to go off after listening to audible books. Thus far, I can't pin them down enough to provide any meaningful documentation of how or when they occur. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Harmon" < rickharmon@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: < bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 26, 2006 2:07 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: BP locking up Hi Doug, No I am absolutely sure that wasn't the case. When I lock mine it beeps when I press any keys and there was no sound at all. I always know which way the BP is positioned before I touch it. I have done this a couple of times myself. Doug ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
