Also, look for really efficient headphones. I've found that the RadioShack 
Titanium phones, model 33-1182, at $49.95 are by far the best phones both 
for my computer and BookPort. They are extremely efficient, meaning that 
there's a minimum of loss in the headphone circuitry.

Are your computer volume levels like your playback and wave levels turned up
enough?  Is your screen reader level loud enough? assuming you use speech,
