For what it's worth, I am also not hearing this sound after the double beep.
I have only used headphones with the Book Port.

I've just done some more testing on this. I thought it might depend on what
type of file I was listening to or pointing to. But I can hear this
regardless of what type of file I'm listening to or pointing to. The only
time it isn't evident is after removing the card. After removing the card, I
hear the double beep, and that is all.
